Stephen J. Fisch grew up in Central Florida and came to California in 1997 to attend college at UCLA, where he gained first-hand experience in law enforcement while working at the University Of California Police Department as a community service officer.
Mr. Fisch worked with police officers on a daily basis and became a field training officer for the community service program. He was also the director of risk management, a member of the judicial board for the Inter-fraternity Council and vice-president of Alpha Epsilon Pi.
After graduating from UCLA, Mr. Fisch remained in Southern California and attended Loyola Law School in downtown Los Angeles, where he graduated in the top 20 percent of his class. Mr. Fisch briefly appears in the documentary film "A Lawyer Walks Into A Bar".
Mr. Fisch began working with Mr. Shevin as a law clerk in 2004. In his over 10 years of practice as an attorney, Mr. Fisch represents clients in all stages of criminal litigation from pre-arraignment investigations with law enforcement to appeals of jury trials to the appellate courts.
Mr. Fisch defends clients in administrative hearings involving the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the California Department of Real Estate and other state and local agencies. Mr. Fisch also practices civil litigation including collection cases, forfeiture cases, restraining orders, writs and other various disputes. Mr. Fisch was named a Rising Star by Los Angeles Magazine for Criminal Defense in 2010 and 2015. Mr. Fisch is an advocate for the reform of marijuana laws and takes pride in representing medical marijuana patients, caregivers, and collectives in criminal and civil settings.
